New Editor for the CAV Journal ‘Iris’ Sought

The Classical Association of Victoria (CAV) is seeking a volunteer to serve as the Honorary Editor of our journal, Iris, for a period of three years, with immediate effect.

Duties of the editor include: soliciting and receiving submissions to the journal; arranging peer-review if authors of submissions request peer-review; proofreading and copy-editing the volume for publication; liaising with a typesetter (whom the CAV will pay) and a printer (whom the CAV will also pay).  The editor should have a sound knowledge of academic referencing and copy editing (or at least be willing to learn the latter).  The end of the calendar year will be the busiest period because the journal should go to print before Christmas, to allow for distribution in early March.  Previous editors have appointed volunteer associate editors to assist with proofreading and copy editing and there are CAV members willing to help with this if the Editor chooses.  The next issue of Iris to be produced is Volume 31 (nominal date 2018).

Expressions of interest should be made via email to the Honorary Secretary, Dr K.O. Chong-Gossard (koc@unimelb.edu.au) by 21 April 2019.
